The goals of the program are: to offer a high quality Center that permits the children to discover and learn, to become decision makers and problem solvers, and to feel good about themselves; and to facilitate the children’s development in the areas of: cognition (thinking), language arts(talking), literacy (reading), social/emotional (relationships) and physical development (moving and doing). The Center is open Monday through Friday, from 7:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. The Center follows the campus calendar and serves children during the Fall and Spring Semesters. Limited spaces are available over the Summer sessions. Children can be served between the ages of three (3) years and five (5) years of age. Children receive three cost-free meals a day. The fees for care are based on family size and gross monthly income. Services are free for eligible low-income, CalWORKs and TANF families. The Center also accepts full fee families. These are families that are over-income by the Department of Education guidelines or who have Alternative Payment (AP) programs paying for their child care tuition.
